A Secret Tea Society salon is a special gathering for tea and conversation. We seek out and create sometimes minimal and sometimes highly embellished venues for the gathering of interesting and interested individuals to share tea and conversation about virtually any given topic. A historic home, a public venue, a private room, any beautiful space can serve as the backdrop for a morning, an afternoon or an evening of curated teas, delectable treats, and conversations that foster learning and understanding of the world and of each other. Those conversations may leave one with, perhaps, more questions than answers–and that is a wondrous thing.

Tea with Friends and Strangers
A Tea Circle
We're testing a new idea… Come hang out with friends and strangers, write an overdue thank you note, or finish knitting a beret without the structure of our normal salon model. Drop in or join us for an hour or two…Just place your dues (only $10) in the teapot when you enter to cover tea, cookies, set-up, and clean-up. Sit and chat with women who you might know or not know at all—and write your notes or finish your project in the process. No fuss, no stress. And, if all goes well, we'll repeat this once a month in January, February, and March 2020.
Tea and tea accessories will be available for holiday gift-giving.

Secret Tea Society is excited to announce that we're taking tea and conversation to another great American city. This is our 10th tour and our first in the southern creative hub of Nashville. For Women Illuminating Nashville!, we'll meet, learn from, and sip tea with an inspiring group of women entrepreneurs—from an energetic chocolate aficionado to a world-class tea blender—who are changing the face of one of the fastest growing, liveliest cities in the country. The Power of Quiet—A Classic Salon
A quiet hike in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, followed by tea and conversation exploring how quietude can heal and empower.
Have you ever taken a walk in complete silence? No friends to chat with, no ear pods...just the sound of birds (a woodpecker perhaps), trickling streams, a scurrying squirrel? What does the silence bring to you? Do you allow yourself such silence? Is there a power to that quiet? We’ll be spending our morning and evening considering these questions and attempting to figure them out.

For years, we’ve imagined hosting a salon in an exquisite, antique English greenhouse. So we were thrilled when The Rural Society’s elegant Warwick Farm, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, transported the greenhouse of our dreams to their lush, sprawling property.
On April 27th, Secret Tea Society will join The Rural Society to fete the opening of this stunning iron and glass building, which was forged by Lord and Burnham in England in the 1930s and transported to the DuPont Estate in Pennsylvania, where it lived until finding its new home on Warwick Farm.
Inspired by the greenhouse’s English roots and Warwick Farm’s abundant gardens, we’ll serve tea and refreshments crafted around a floral theme. You’ll be greeted with a sparkling welcome cocktail followed by a tea talk and tasting delivered by me, Angela Strach-Gotthardt, Tea Specialist and founder of Secret Tea Society. We’ll taste three sumptuous, historically significant teas along with a bevy of refreshments, and you'll go home with a tea specially blended for the day!

Ellen, our lovely server and a proud Scot, will bring her famous shortbread and demonstrate the techniques behind this 200-year-old family recipe. Three luscious teas will be paired with Ellen’s creation. There will be no formal Topic-of-the-Day, so you’ll have plenty of time to meet new women or reconnect with those you know. Hands-on Tea Blending Workshop

This workshop is perfectly timed for holiday giving. Please join us to create your own unique tea or tisane. We’ll start the day by tasting four base teas (white, green, oolong and black) and a range of herbs and botanicals. After, you’ll mix and match different elements and go home with a blend created uniquely by you—one ideal for gifting. Gift bag, gift tag, and tissue paper are included.
Workshop fee: $50.00 — The workshop fee includes all tastings, blending ingredients, and one 4oz take-home bag of your own unique blend, complete with our signature ribbon. Additional bags of the same recipe may be purchased for 10% off the normal price. Gift tea bags can be .75 oz, 2.5oz, 4oz, or 6 oz. and range from $5.00 to about $42.00.
